Croatia - May report

Today is a warm, sunny spring day.

20˚C/68˚F

WIND:

There is light breeze.

ANIMALS

The insects are flying around. We can see bees, flies, spiders, ants, butterflies... The birds feed their young in the nests. Pets are happy and are losing their winter fur and are getting new, summer coat.

PLANTS

The trees are no longer blossoming, they have green leaves and early fruit. We can eat strawberries and cherries. The flowers such as pansies are still colourful, but tulips and daffodils are not.

CLOTHES

People can wear T-shirts and sweatshirts, light jackets and sneakers. Some days are very warm. When it is raining, people take raincoats and umbrellas. There have been a couple of thunderstorms because it got really hot.

GAMES:

Games we play are many and various. We play different sports and board games, as well as other games such as jumping over the string, hopscotch, tag etc.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES:

Walking, running, rollerskating, riding a bike, playing badminton, playing tennis, swimming in a pool, visiting town, shopping.

SPECIAL DAYS AND ACTIVITIES

·                     1st May – International Labour Day and bank holiday

·                     16th May – the Bishop Josip Mrzljak visited our school

·                     25th May – School Day – performances, awards and exhibitions for everybody to see
