FAMILY ACTIVITIES:  going to the beach, going to the lake, barbeques, fireworks, gardening, athletics.

IN OUR PHOTO  we are going swimming in our school pool. It is a heated pool. We have lessons in the pool every day!

Leaves on the trees have  changed colors. Some trees have no leaves. Apples are ripe, and we saw small crab apples.

HOLIDAY

Halloween - we can't wait! It's 31 October, and we go Trick or Treating! People have parties, and we get lots of candy. At school we are going to have a Spooky Food snack of frozen eyeballs and ants on a log!

This picture is the back of our school, in our playground. Our windows look out to a parking lot, so we know this picture is more interesting. You can see our school's garden on the left, and we have a nature trail behind those big trees.

OUR REPORT - OCTOBER

Today is a sunny autumn day.

THE SKY:

blue and partly cloudy

TEMRERATURE:

The leaves are flying around on the ground.

ANIMALS

We can see crows, birds, ants, spiders, a dog and butterflies. We can also see mole-hills.

PLANTS

The grass is green and partly brown because there is no rain. The shrubs and the tree leaves are green and partly yellow. Some leaves started to fall off. Needles of the pines are green. There are a lot of flowers in our garden, and we can see some daisies.

CLOTHES

People wear long sleeves and shirts or pullovers, jackets, socks, jeans or trousers. Some people wear caps and scarfs.

GAMES:

We play football, hide and seek and jumping or tag.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES:

Working in the garden, walking in the park, swimming in the swimming pool.

HOLIDAYS (vacation)

• · In October we celebrated Independence Day on 8^th October. That is our Croatian rebuplic holiday.
• · The second weekend in October we celebrated Day of the Bread in Church and in school. We brought bread, cookies, biscuits, cakes and other wheat products and had a feast after the food was blessed.
• · On 31^st October we are going to celebrate Halloween in our English classes, and at home people are preparing to visit the graves of their loved ones.

Small birds and also pigeons are flying, insects such as ants,snails and lizards are around.

Grass is still green and also most of the trees are green.Some of the trees have started to fall down their leaves slowly.The orange,lemon , tangerine and olive trees have fruits on them.But They are green too.They need time for being eaten.

CLOTHES:

Trousers,sometimes tshirt and jackets,caps,tights,blouses,thin coats and jumpers.

GAMES:

Playing outside in the playground at the breaks,playing marbles on the ground,running and playing football and baseball

  FAMILY ACTIVITIES:

          Going outside for walking ,going picnics with their families to the seaside,the students
                                         help their  families while planting winter vegetables
                                          such as beans,leak,romaine lettuce and  cabbage.

                                                           

                                                                         HOLIDAYS:

                  The students will have holiday 28th of October just for one day.

   29th of October is a National Feast,The feast name is 29th of October
                                                      Republic Day.

 We are going to celebrate the feast on 29th of October in the stadium

GAMES:

Playing outside in the playground at noon, running, football, hide and seek.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES:

Going in the countryside , where children help their parents and grandparents to pick grapes and to prepare "must"= a delicious drink made from grapes. After few weeks "mustul " turns into wine.

HOLIDAYS:

Children from Romania have a short holiday between 22nd -30th of October, but it is only for children from kindergartens and primary schools ( till 4th form).

The leaves of the trees do not move.

ANIMALS

We can see magpies,blackbirds,different kinds of small birds, snails, spiders, earthworms, caterpillars, ants, earwigs,butterflies, common lizards, flies, mosquitoes and a cat hunting.

PLANTS

The grass is brown . Some tree leaves are brown or yellow and beginning to fall. In our playground there are apple trees, hazelnut trees, cherry trees, pines, mimosa trees and many kinds of shrubs.

CLOTHES

We are still wearing tops, t-shirts, shorts, summer clothes in general. It´s autumn but this year the weather is crazy. It has not rained for weeks and temperatures are too high for this month.

GAMES:

Football, running, cycling, roleplays in the playground, outdoor games in general.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES:

Picking apples and making cider, now it´s still apple juice and we can drink it! Some of us went to the beach last week(It´s only 23 kms away)

HOLIDAYS (vacation)

We celebrated our national day on October 12th.

long trousers, shirts with long sleaves, tights and skirts, jackets, snickers, strong shoes

football and other games with ball, playing in the playground, running, seek-and-hide game
